Has anyone heard anything? I just finished season 3 on DVD, and of course want more..
This is the last thing I read about them:

I just don't know, you guys....
Milch is so damn hot on "John" right now - it's hard to tell if he's hard at work on the 2 Deadwood films. I hope to God he is. In the meantime, despite the negative reviews of "John" from our local TV reviewer here in San Francisco, I'm actually getting into it and I'm enjoying it. So far, it has absolutely nothing on Deadwood, but it's good to see Milch branching out and doing something else, albeit so prematurely! "John" really does have something to it. It is not lacking in substance!
I'm not sure if I can forgive David for leaving all of us fans in such a lurch! Do you forgive the guy? He's an artist. I think he needs to hear our feedback!
Deadwood was so exceptional, so brilliant and such a shining star - far above conventional television, that it really, really hurt me to see it go, so soon, so unfinished! Milch has to know this!!!
Soooo -we can only hope. Let's hope we get some good news from HBO about the Deadwood movies! I remain hopeful - that's for sure!
Until then - "John" will most definitely carry me through the wait!
Best wishes to ALL Deadwood fans!!!

Just read a blurb in our local paper stating that it's a 50/50 shot that they'll be made at all.

    ~read; don't hold yor breath.

      I'm confused.
In the commentary track during the last episode, Milch makes an angry comment on the show being canceled, yet some comments here lay it on his feet.
I just assumed that there was a change at "the top" on HBO, thus really idiotic decisions being made right and left. Not just Deadwood, but Rome as well.
      This isn't the case?

HBO's losing it's focus all over the place. Since 6FU and Deadwood were snuffed and The Wire is due to finish this season the only things I *ever* watch are Entourage, Maher and Def Poets. The rest of it I'm pretty 'meh' about.
Showtime is gaining serious ground and likely overtaking HBO with the very excellent Dexter, (David from 6FU as a forensics cop and serial killer) and the poor man's Sopranos/Departed drama Brotherhood. And I'll be damned if Weeds and the new Californication arent as hilarious as i think Ari is on Entourage.
