Odd episode. Kind of ... "flat", but I'm seeing it as the calm before the storm. After Trixie's shooting of Hearst, the entire rest of the ep. was waiting to see what was going to happen. Yeah ... the calm before the storm.
Best Lines:
Swearengen: "My meetings? I provide refreshments."

Langriche: "A little while ago, I heard what I took for a gunshot; an impression I remark not on the ground of its uniqueness, but for the shot having seemed to issue from so near to my recumbent ear."

Jewel: "Godammit Richardson! You're too ugly to go sneekin' up on fuckin' people!"
- - - - -
Swearengen: "Heng dai. Heng dai, fuckin' Wu."
- - - - -
Wu: "Big man. Wu, big man."

Didn't expect this to happen to Ellsworth-
even when Hearst said the line about the one in the tent.
I didn't think he was talking about Ellsworth until they showed him there in his tent with the dog.

Re: "The Catbird Seat"
Mon, August 21, 2006 - 8:00 AMI actually told my wife way earlier in the season that Ellsworth was going to be killed by Hearst. I guessed that part right, but have no idea what's going on in the next episode after the little preview at the end... -

You bumped your head son!
Elsworth is dead, Trixie shoots Hearst *AND* gives us all a full frontal while doing it!!!
Personally I loved the surreal, frantic desperation by the camp as Elsworth was wheeled in. It was dead on.

is Johnny going to challenge Al? -

Re: "The Catbird Seat"
Mon, August 21, 2006 - 3:20 PMOh ... the beginning was extraordinary, I agree. But everything after Trixie's return from the Grand Central was blah. Doesn't mean I didn't like it, I did! It just wasn't as frantic as I anticipated. -

Thu, August 24, 2006 - 5:48 PMI liked the interaction between Al and Wu.
And that the whole camp was pretty devastated at the loss of Ellsworth.
