Is Jane just not the most tragic character on TV. Good god, I almost wept during her scene with Joanie where she was describing her dreams. I really do hope that she recovers some part of her life before Deadwood ends.
Favorite quotes from this episode:
Con Stapleton: "I beg you; release your man-stallion from his he-stable for another gallop 'round the ring."
-----
Langrishe: "As your faith must proscribe your receiving bribes, credit the five to her room."
-----
Heast: "Are you sayin' you wanna fuck me?"
Jarry: "What?"
Hearst: "Well, you keep callin' yourself Alcibiades to my Socrates. Are you proposing some sort of homosexual connection between us?"
Jarry: " ... I forgot that part of the story."
-----
Hearst: "Elections cannot 'inconvenience' me! They ratify my will, or I neuter them!"

Re: "A Constant Throb"
Mon, August 14, 2006 - 9:00 AMI loveloveloved this episode, all of those quotes are great.
Nice to see Al not get sidetracked by a compliment from Hearst's henchman.
I also loved how fascinated the whores (and Jewel) were by Mrs. Ellsworth. "Have you ever had bacon before?" haha

Tue, August 15, 2006 - 11:58 AMThis episode just pissed me off.
It was brilliance and it only infuriates me that I'll lose the blessing of such superior writing and acting so soon on the heels of SFU's requiem.
BTW have you heard that the cocksucking powers that be are contemplating a carnivale movie ala Deadwood closure style? -
